Sincere Pumpkins

Wyatt is 68 months (five years and eight months) old. The past month included quite a few days off of school, and Wyatt and family took advantage of many of them. A highlight of the month was the annual autumn trip to Long Island, including a fun-filled day at Hanks’s Pumpkintown in Water Mill, NY. Other day off activities included a sports day in Stamford and hiking Turkey Mountain, near Yorktown, NY. Last weekend was the end of fall ball Little League baseball. Wyatt made great progress for his first season hitting pitches from a machine. By the middle of the season, Wyatt was getting on base nearly half the time. Wyatt and Evan’s team, the Shark Bears, won 10 of the 11 games they played. Wyatt settled in to school when school was in session, and he went on his first field trip, to an apple orchard.

Live Onstage

Evan is 93 months (seven years and nine months) old. Evan has been really busy since late August. Starting just before the family’s trip to Wisconsin, Evan has been on the go. There have been many events of note in the last five weeks, highlighted by the first day of second grade and two School of Rock ‘Power Pop’ concerts. Evan played his guitar for three songs and sang a fourth. Other activities included the Dutchess County Fair, Evan’s first (not rained out) Mets game at Citi Field, fall Little League baseball (with Wyatt), and Evan’s first season of Pound Ridge Flag Football. Evan went to Compo Beach in Connecticut twice, once at the end of summer with friends and family and more recently a second grade field trip to study some of the critters living in the water.

Wyatt is 67 months (five years and seven months) old. Wyatt had a very busy end of summer and start of the school year. He did many things, but the two highlights were a family trip to Wisconsin and Wyatt’s first day of kindergarten. Wyatt was very excited to ride the bus and go to Bedford Hills Elementary with his big brother. Another first for the brothers is that they are playing on the same baseball team for the first time in Bedford Hills Katonah Little League’s fall ball. Wyatt is also continuing with Bedford Youth Soccer. Other events since the last post included trips to the Dutchess County Fair and a New York Mets game at Citi Field.

Getting Together

In late August 2016, the family took a trip to southern Wisconsin. It was a good week with Grandma and Grandpa and the rest of the extended family. It was hot, and not everyone was feeling his best, so the trip was not quite as busy as the typical Stackle family trip, but the boys were still on the go each day. Highlights included mini golf and batting cages, fishing on Lake Koshkonong, and Braeden’s 10th birthday party. The boys also got to visit Grandma and Grandpa’s new house, still under construction.

Camp Cohort

Evan is 92 months (seven years and eight months) old. Evan had another full month. The most recent highlight is taking a trip to Wisconsin. Those pictures will be in a later post. Earlier in the month, Evan finished his second summer at Bedford Hills Day Camp. Evan enjoyed spending time with old friends and making new ones. It was a hot month, but the campers got to spend some of their day cooling off in the pool. Other activities last month included a trip to Manhattan, a jazz festival, a Mets game at Citi Field (rained out), a day at Splashdown Beach water park, and several birthday parties. Evan recently attended his first sleep-over birthday party.

Activities included a trip to Manhattan, a jazz festival, a Mets game at Citi Field (rained out, but the family got to visit the museum and enjoy a stadium burger), a day at Splashdown Beach water park, and several birthday parties, plus plenty of time in the pool after swimming lessons.

There were three days/nights of Independence Day celebrations. After July Fourth, Evan started his second year of Town of Bedford day camp. Evan and his fellow campers spend their days running, swimming, and crafting. They have already taken field trips to a movie and Lake Compounce amusement park. Self Portrait

Evan is 7-1/2 years (90 months) old. Last month marked the end of the school year and the spring sports schedule. Evan will be moving up to second grade in September. Evan’s baseball team, Robison Oil, finished the season with a record of 3-12-1. Though the boys did not win a lot of games, they played hard, learned, and improved every week. The Bedford Youth Soccer season also ended. Other highlights from last month included the school art show, Field Day, three field trips, and a visit to Manhattan with Nonna and Granddad. The warm weather has provided many chances for swimming and other outdoor activities, including climbing a platform in the yard that will someday be home to a tree house.
