Evan is nine years and seven months old. He has been going to town day camp for five weeks already, with only one week remaining. Due to recent rainy weather, camp has been indoors more this summer than usual, but the kids still enjoy playing games and spending time with their friends.

In June and July, Evan played on the Bedford Hills Katonah 10 and Under baseball team. The boys played a lot of baseball and improved quickly. They finished the summer season with a record of 4-9.

Also in the past month, there were fireworks and a barbecue in honor of Independence Day, and the family went to Citi Field to see a NY Mets game. Evan and Wyatt attended a one week introductory golf clinic, where they learned the basics of grip, stance, and swing. And Evan continues rehearsals for the next School of Rock show that will be performed at the end of the summer.

Our second day at the Magic Kingdom and our last day at a Disney park was a full 12+ hour Disney day. It started with a ride on Walt Disney World Railroad to Frontierland, where we rode Big Thunder Mountain railroad for a second time. We flew on the Magic Carpets of Aladdin, met Aladdin and Jasmine, and visited the Enchanted Tiki Room. We took a ride through the Haunted Mansion and a ride around It’s a Small World before ending the morning on the Barnstormer roller coaster. After lunch, we learned a little American history from the Muppets, rode on Pirates of the Caribbean, learned how to be a pirate from Captain Jack Sparrow, played some more rounds of Treasures of the Seven Seas, and had a taste test between Citrus Swirl and Dole Whip. The afternoon ended with a ride on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We got on the Monorail and headed to Disney’s Contemporary Resort, where we had dinner at Chef Mickey’s and met many Disney characters. Finally, we headed back to the Magic Kingdom and ended our trip by watching the Happily Ever After fireworks show.

Our day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom was action-packed. We got to Hollywood Studios early to sign up for Jedi training. After scheduling the training, we played Toy Story Midway Mania and saw the Muppet Vision 3D show, then Evan and Wyatt went to their Jedi training session. We ate lunch while watching the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular and then went across the park to see the Beauty and the Beast Stage show. After the show were rides on Star Tours, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. We stopped at a candy store and took a brief break before driving over to Disney’s Animal Kingdom and heading right to the Expedition Everest roller coaster. After all that excitement, the day ended calmly with dinner and a stroll in the Pandora area of Animal Kingdom.
