Evan is eight years and eight months old. Evan had an eventful month. The surprise of the month was that Evan’s “minor” injury at camp turned out to be a broken arm. Two weeks after the injury, Evan’s lower right arm was put in a cast. That reduced the amount of time Evan was able to spend in the water but did not otherwise slow him down. Evan finished the season at town camp then headed to Wisconsin for a family trip a few days later. On their first day in Wisconsin, the family went to the Wisconsin State Fair. At the fair, Evan went to his first rock concert (a super group of members of 80’s bands) and got to go on the stage of a sea lion show.
The next day, everyone headed north for a long weekend on a lake in central Wisconsin. Evan, Wyatt, Braeden, and Nathan enjoyed spending time outside. They went frog hunting, fishing, boating, hiking, went to a baseball game, played laser tag, and had a great time.
Earlier in the month was a camping trip to Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. It was the family’s first camping trip. There were things to do at the town library, and Evan spent a week of afternoons at the Community House learning about rockets. There was also a quick trip to Sag Harbor last weekend. Pictures from that weekend will be included in next month’s post.
