Wyatt was all in with sports and outdoor activities in May of 2022. He played Bedford Hills Katonah Little League baseball, travel baseball, ran and biked in the Bedford Central School District Bike Run, and did a bunch of events at Bedford Central School District Olympic Day. Both BCSD events included students from all five district elementary schools. Olympic Day included only the fifth graders from the five schools. Wyatt also went fishing twice and played trumpet in the Bedford Hills Elementary School spring concert.

April of 2022 was a big baseball month for Evan. Months of winter and pre-season workouts paid off with some successes on the field in real games. As usual, the April weather was finicky, but both of Evan’s teams got some games in. For the first time, Evan was able to represent his school on the baseball diamond, starting for The Fox Lane Middle School modified baseball team. Over spring break, the family took a short trip to the area around Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Everyone enjoyed hiking, fishing, whitewater rafting, and learning a little bit about the Civil War history of the area. After that trip, the family enjoyed a quiet Easter at home. Evan also helped Mom celebrate her birthday in April.

March was a quieter month. Scheduled late-season ski club trips were canceled, and baseball winter workouts came to an end, one team at a time. One event that did happen in March was School of Rock Bedford’s participation in a “best of season” show in Connecticut with two other Schools of Rock. That was the first in-person best of season show for the program in a couple of years. Earlier that same day, Evan played in a dodgeball tournament that was a fundraiser for the sports booster club. Evan’s team came in second place in the middle school division. Evan also spent a day in March playing paintball with one of his travel baseball teams.

March of 2022 was quieter than the previous few months. The winter sports season wound down, but the spring sports season had yet to begin. One big event in March was School of Rock Bedford’s participation in a “best of season” show in Connecticut with two other Schools of Rock. That was the first in-person best of season show for the program in a couple of years.

The Bedford Bears hockey season ended (again) in March. Although the Hudson Valley Hockey League season ended in February, the Bears 10U A team enjoyed playing a couple more games together. The 10U A team ended up with a record just below the 0.500 mark.

Wyatt also spent a couple of school days off in March hanging out with friends.

Evan was very active in February of 2022. He went on a ski trip with the Fox Lane Ski Club, and the family took a ski trip to Vermont during the President’s Week school break. Evan went to a birthday party and watched the Super Bowl with friends. Indoor baseball and fitness workouts continued, though those workouts were limited due to scheduling conflicts and some winter weather events.

Wyatt turned 11 years old on Tuesday, 2/22/22. Happy Birthday, Wyatt! He celebrated his birthday skiing in the mountains of Vermont. The family helped Wyatt celebrate with gifts and cake on the 21st and then drove north. Everyone enjoyed four days of playing in the snow and a variety of other forms of weather and precipitation. The school break ski trip included warm and cold temperatures, slush and ice, and powder for the last day of the trip.

The other big event in February was the second performance of the School of Rock Bedford’s “Blondie vs. Pat Benatar” show. Wyatt played drums on four of the set’s ten songs.

The Bedford Bears hockey season also ended in February. The 10U A team ended up with a record of 16-18-6.
