Wyatt is 25 months (two years and one month) old. Wyatt had a very quiet month. Since the weather remained cold, he stayed home and enjoyed playing with all the new toys he received for his birthday. He especially enjoys using his new play cleaning cart to help mom and dad clean the house.
Wyatt is making great progress speaking and also continues with a little potty training.

Evan is 50 months (four years and two months) old. There has been some snow in the past month, and Evan spent quite a bit of time outside. He shoveled, built an igloo with Mom, sledded, and skied with Dad at Mohawk Mountain in Cornwall, Connecticut. By the third ski trip, Evan was able to make it down the easier slopes without falling down. He also went to the first of at least five birthday parties he will attend in the first three months of the year. Evan also enjoyed several arts and crafts projects and made some Valentines.

Wyatt is two years old. Happy Birthday, Wyatt! He is 34-1/2″ tall and weighs 30 pounds. Wyatt had a fairly quiet month. There was a big snow storm, so he got to spend some time sledding and throwing snowballs. Wyatt also enjoyed a small family birthday party a few days early. He had fun, ate good food, and enjoyed opening some of his gifts.
Last month’s weather was relatively cold, so Wyatt spent most of his time playing inside with both new and older toys. Wyatt really enjoys books and is happy to read with grown-ups for extended periods. He also spends a bit of time in the play kitchen, making pretend meals for everyone.

Evan is 49 months (four years and one month) old. Last month included Christmas, New Year’s, and Evan’s birthday. Evan had a great Christmas and a birthday blow-out. He got to celebrate his birthday several times, including with a cupcake on December 24, a trip to Manhattan on his birthday, and a party at American Gymnastics with his friends on January 6. Evan is very thankful for all his wonderful Christmas and birthday gifts. He continues to enjoy playing with toy vehicles of all sorts, and he is really starting to enjoy writing and drawing. He also keeps working on his reading and math.

Wyatt is 23 months (one year and eleven months) old. Last month included Christmas, New Year’s, and celebrations for Evan’s birthday. Wyatt enjoyed Christmas very much and received many wonderful gifts with which he plays every day.
Wyatt learns more words all the time and is showing some potty training progress. So far it is an informal process, but he is often aware of when he needs to use the potty and is pretty good at telling someone about it.

Evan and Wyatt had a very nice Christmas in 2012. December mornings started with a treat from the Advent calendar. Also in December, they met Santa a couple of times, went to Christmas parties, helped to decorate the house and Christmas tree, and looked at holiday displays in New York City. They spent Christmas Eve in New Jersey with Nonna, Granddad, Auntie Bobbs, Uncle Tom, and Mom and Dad. Evan also blew out an early birthday candle on Christmas Eve. Wyatt and Evan spent Christmas day at home in their pajamas, opening presents. They enjoyed all their gifts. Early favorites were battery-operated Thomas and James trains, a ride-on airplane for Wyatt, and a Bucky pirate ship and Hess truck and helicopter for Evan.

Happy Birthday, Evan!
Evan is now four years old. He weighs 42.5 pounds, which is in the 90th percentile, and he is 43″ tall, which is in the 94th percentile. Evan has become a big kid in every way in the last year. He has become very independent and strong-willed. He can eat on his own, though he often needs quite a bit of persuasion. He goes to preschool three days of week, and one of those days is a long one that includes eating lunch out of the house with other kids. Evan can read and write his name, and he can write other words with help from grown-ups. He can read or recognize a few other words, too. He knows his numbers and is working on addition and subtraction.
The last month has been another busy one, full of preparations for Christmas. Evan has baked, signed cards, and shopped for and wrapped gifts. He spent a day seeing the holiday sights in New York City, and he visited the holiday train show at the New York Botanical Garden. He tried to be the first one downstairs every morning to get a treat out of the Advent calendar.

Wyatt is 22 months (one year and ten months) old. It was a busy month. The highlights were Thanksgiving at home with family and friends and all the preparations for Christmas. He enjoys discovering a treat in the Advent calendar every morning with Evan.
Wyatt’s vocabulary has greatly expanded. He is still working on the pronunciation of many words, but he is making progress with that, too. He is working on learning the ABC’s and has started to use numbers and count a little bit.

Evan is three years and eleven months (47 months) old. A lot happened in the past month. Grandma came to visit from Wisconsin. Hurricane Sandy struck, and Bedford Hills lost power for about three days. Although the storm forced the cancellation of most Halloween celebrations on October 31, things started to get back to normal, and Evan got to dress up as Thomas the Tank Engine in Rutherford, NJ and Bedford Hills. Mommy made a terrific Thomas costume for Evan out of cardboard boxes. There was an early storm that left over six inches of snow in Bedford Hills. Evan helped build a snowman. Evan spent a bit of time outdoors in spite of the cool weather, including helping Dad rake leaves. And Evan was a lot of help on Thanksgiving. He brought home delicious cornbread he made at Playcare and on Thanksgiving he helped to cook and set the table.

Wyatt is now 21 months (one year and nine months) old. It was a very eventful month. Grandma came to visit from Wisconsin. Hurricane Sandy hit, causing major damage to the area, and leaving Bedford Hills without power for three days. The boys were able to celebrate Halloween a few days late, trick-or-treating in Rutherford, NJ and Bedford Hills the first week of November. There was an early coastal storm that left over six inches of snow in Bedford Hills. The boys enjoyed playing in the snow and building a snowman. The snow melted within a few days. Up next is the first Thanksgiving at which Wyatt will eat all ‘grown-up’ food.
Wyatt continues to work on his verbal skills. His words are still a bit hard to understand, but he has a fairly large vocabulary.
