Wyatt — March 2023

March marked the turning of the sports seasons. Early in the month, the Fox Lane Sports Boosters held a district-wide dodgeball tournament. The Bedford Bears hockey team held tryouts for the 2023-24 season, and Wyatt started playing spring hockey with a team that represented the Fox Lane Middle School. Wyatt continued to work out indoors with two baseball clubs. Closer to the end of the month, Wyatt went to a Fox Lane Baseball Boosters season kickoff banquet and also to a friend’s birthday party at Grand Prix New York.

Evan — February 2023

February was a fairly busy month. The Fox Lane Middle School modified basketball team finished its season, continuing to win most of their games. Baseball hitting clinics continued indoors. Evan skied at Jiminy Peak a couple of times, one of which was with the Fox Lane Ski Club. Early in the month, Evan performed at District Social with School of Rock Bedford in “British Steel,” songs of British heavy metal bands of the 1970s and 1980s. Over the February school break, Evan and family flew to Salt Lake City, Utah, for a few days of skiing. Evan, Wyatt, and Dad skied fresh powder at Park City Mountain, Snowbird, Solitude, and Brighton.

Wyatt — February 2023

Wyatt turned 12 years old on February 22. Happy Birthday, Wyatt! February was an eventful month. The Bedford Bears winter hockey season ended. Wyatt continued to work out indoors with two baseball organizations. On the 8th and 9th, Wyatt performed at District Social with School of Rock Bedford in “Piano Man vs. Rocket Man,” featuring the songs of Elton John and Billy Joel. Wyatt opened birthday gifts and celebrated with family before and after the 22nd, because he was on vacation on his birthday. The big event of the month was a ski trip to Utah the week over the February school break. Wyatt skied at Park City Mountain, Snowbird, Solitude, and Brighton.

Evan — January 2023

After ringing in the New Year in Vermont, Evan spent the first two days of January skiing at Mount Snow. He also took a couple of day trips skiing with friends and the Fox Lane Ski Club later in the month. The Fox Lane Middle School modified basketball team got into game play and won all but one of their games in January. Evan also took full advantage of his new gym membership.

Wyatt — January 2023

January of 2023 started off with a family ski trip to Mount Snow in Vermont. Conditions were decent in spite of the unseasonably warm winter. The rest of the month included school and hockey as well as two more ski day trips. The Bedford Bears hockey organization sent most of its teams to the Philadelphia area for a tournament over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend. Wyatt’s team lost in the championship game for its division. Wyatt also played at his first middle school band concert and started indoor baseball workouts in January.

Evan — December 2022

Evan turned 14 years old on December 26. Happy Birthday, Evan! Evan had a good month. His Sea Wolves flag football team won the middle school regular season title and finished second in the playoffs. Evan received an MVP award for his play with the Sea Wolves. Also in the world of sports, the Fox Lane Middle School modified basketball team continued to practice but postponed its first game of the season until early January.

Near the end of December, Evan enjoyed the school break and had a nice Christmas, birthday, and New Year. Evan took a morning ski trip to Catamount Mountain in the Taconics and drove up to Mount Snow in Vermont on New Year’s Eve to ring in 2023 with friends. Evan also had two birthday dinners with different family members.

Wyatt — December 2022

The first few weeks December of 2022 involved more school and hockey for Wyatt. The Bears hockey team continued to practice and played a few games. Later in the month, games were paused for the winter holidays.

Wyatt celebrated Christmas and the New Year with family and friends. He had some relaxing days off of school, and he also skied one day at Catamount Mountain. The family drove to Mount Snow in Vermont on New Year’s Eve, where they rang in 2023 with friends.

Evan — November 2022

In November of 2022, Evan transitioned from tackle football to flag football. The Fox Lane modified football team’s season ended on November 1 with a win. Evan and a couple other Foxes then joined the Sea Wolves team in a middle school flag football legue. The Sea Wolves won all but one of their games in November. Also on the sports front, Evan attended baseball hitting clinics twice a week with some of his fellow foxes, and he started basketball practices with the Fox Lane Middle School modified team.

One non-sports event was a trip to New York City to have dinner and attend the Broadway musical, “Almost Famous.” Also in November, Evan enjoyed Thanksgiving at home with the family then spent time at a friendsgiving.

Wyatt — November 2022

Wyatt continued to focus on school and hockey in November of 2022. The Bears hockey team practiced twice and played two games per week, including a few league games.

In early November, Wyatt and family went to New York City to have dinner and attend the Broadway musical, “Almost Famous.”

Wyatt had a busy Thanksgiving weekend, including dinner at home on the holiday, two friendsgivings, and Bearsgiving, an in-house gathering of teams in the organization to collect food and enjoy spending time together on the ice.

Evan — October 2022

October of 2022 was another month of school and sports for Evan. He continued playing for the Fox Lane modified football team and the Red Foxes 14U and 15U baseball teams. The football team played a few games and showed steady improvement until their season ended on November 1. The baseball teams kept playing hard in the Greater Hudson Valley Baseball League as well as at a New York Elite Baseball tournament in Orange County, NY in late October.

Evan had fun celebrating school spirit with his friends and football teammates at Fox Night. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and dressing up as Winnie the Pooh a couple of times to celebrate Halloween.
