Evan was old enough this year really to get the full Halloween experience. He dressed up as Elmo’s friend Mr. Noodle from Sesame Street/Elmo’s World. Evan enjoyed the Halloween festivities in Bedford Hills, at the Minskoff Theatre in Times Square, and in Nonna and Granddad’s apartment building. Evan did not get much candy but had a great time.

Evan is 22 months old today. He had a relatively uneventful month. He really likes the two mornings a week he goes to school, and he enjoys the time he spends with Nonna and Granddad on weekends. One of Evan’s teachers shared some pictures from school with us, and some of those are in an earlier post.

Evan has been going to preschool at Katonah Playcare since September 17. He attends school two mornings per week. He seems to be having a good time. Here are some pictures Evan’s teacher Joanna has taken. Thanks to her for publishing these and many other class photos on Kodak Gallery.

Evan has a new toddler bed. Here are a few pictures from Monday, October 4, as we assembled the bed. So far Evan seems to like his new “big boy” bed.

Evan is now 21 months old. He weighs about 30 pounds. His vocabulary continues to expand every day. The last month has been exceptionally eventful. Evan went with Mom and Dad to visit Dad’s side of the family in Wisconsin. Some pictures from that trip are posted below. The week after the trip, Evan started a new term of Music Together, and the next day he started preschool at Katonah Playcare. Evan has only been to school a few times so far, but he seems to like it. He is making new friends and playing with all sorts of new toys. Last week, Evan got his first haircut. Some of those pictures are also posted below. And Evan continued to experience new things around New York City, including the Manhattan Children’s Museum, Riverbank State Park, and the Bronx Zoo.

On September 21, Evan got his first haircut. A few pictures from the event are below, plus a picture from his first bike ride with Dad. The bike helmet seems to fit a little better now.

Evan and Mom and Dad have just returned from a trip to Wisconsin where they spent time with many of Evan’s relatives on Dad’s side of the family. Highlights of the trip included going to the University of Wisconsin football game in Madison, a Green Bay Packers viewing party, and a trip to the Vilas Zoo in Madison. Everyone had a great time, and Evan got to know his family better. Evan also got to spend time with a dog, which he seemed to enjoy very much.

Evan is now 20 months old. He continues to grow physically and intellectually. He now weighs over 28 pounds on the home scale. His vocabulary seems to expand every day. He climbs on everything in sight and often seems fearless.

Since the weather was better than the hot and humid July weather, Evan spent a lot of time outside in the last month. Highlights of the month included trips to the Stepping Stones Museum, a Yankees’ game, the Central Park Zoo, Victorian Gardens in Central Park, numerous playgrounds in Manhattan, and the pool in Bedford Hills.

Evan was 19 months old on July 26. In spite of the hot summer, Evan has begged all his care givers to let him spend as much time outside as possible. He also is trying to expand his vocabulary, and seems to know and use more than 25 words now. Evan can now climb on every piece of furniture at home.
